What is Broadband?

The term broadband commonly refers to high-speed internet access. The FCC defines broadband service as data transmission speeds exceeding 200 kilobits per second (Kbps), or 200,000 bits per second, in at least one direction: downstream (from the internet to the users' computer) or upstream (from the users' computer to the internet).

Winn Communications currently offers the following broadband options:

Shared Gigabit Broadband

Shared Gigabit Broadband is a Fiber Optic Broadcast Multipoint Network shared between customers. Each Bandwidth Tier has the ability to burst to the maximum speed the network has available, which can be near 1 Gigabyte Per Second. Usage will be monitored to ensure that no single customer can flood the network by utilizing the full network bandwidth excessively.

Fiber Transport Broadband

Fiber Transport Broadband is broadband internet that is dedicated to each customer individually. It is sold in increments of speed up to 100 Megabytes Per Second.
